Well we all had our pre-sale money ready for the rumor of the G1 being ready today (maybe not all of us), unfortunately there was absolutely no word of any pre-sale sale. On a brighter note there has been confirmation of a press release in NYC and possible official release of the first Android device for September 23rd. Good news right? I guess only if they are bringing us the G1 also known as the Dream.

I wonder will T-Mobile give the G1 a color overhaul to resemble the new icy white Touch Diamond.

And if you haven’t heard already (or seen for it’s brief moment) the Blackberry Storm for Big Red is here. At least the Storm is coming soon. Let’s hope Verizon isn’t playing us like the weather forecasters have about storms that arrive weeks after they are supposed to touch down. You can currently be updated through your email with up to date information from Verizon in regards to The Storm. This also just in Verizon is considering a no contract deal for customers that buy their devices out right. This puts them in the market of the T-Mobile flex pay plan. Verizon may take this step as early as September 21st. Imagine upgrading your phone without signing on to another 2 year contract or better upgrading your phone whenever your pockets can afford it.

Oh and if there is anyone at/with AT&T that has not gone out and purchased their Iphone here is another option for you. The Samsung Omnia, which will be the Mirage when brought over to AT&T. The rumor mill has it locked in for as early as next month. While speak Apple in more Apple news the new iPod with the shake and shuffle feature is outrageous. The iPhone firmware 2.1 update has been released (if nothing at all a longer battery life and faster downloads). Also the firmware allows quicker stream time when synching your itunes playlist to your phone. Just in time for that new iTunes 8 upgrade as well.
