This November, the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) maybe finalizing the new standard of WiMAX called WiMAX 2 and if approved, will become available to the public by the end of 2012.   WiMAX 2 will be a higher level of 4G technology (click here to educate yourself ) that offers a new 802.16m version of WiMAX offering over 100Mbps compared to WiMAX’s current speeds of 3 to 6Mbps from Clear and Sprint.   The good news is when WiMAX 2 launches for Clear and Sprint, they will be able to provide speeds faster than current home networks on the same 2.5GHz band they already use.   Sounds like I may become a Sprint customers in the future.
