Recently RIM updated its BlackBerry Desktop Software up to version 6.0.2. The new update new adds support for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet for backup, restoring, and syncing media to it. Along with the adding some PlayBook, the new update offers:

Tablet support

  • You can now use your BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet with the BlackBerry Desktop Software: sync your music playlists, pictures, and videos, back up and restore your tablet data, and update your BlackBerry® Tablet OS.

First-time connection

  • The first time you open the BlackBerry Desktop Software, you can set some of your preferences, such as starting the BlackBerry Desktop Software whenever you connect your device and automatically checking for software updates.

Forget device

  • You can remove your device from the list of known devices in the BlackBerry Desktop Software through the Device > Forget device menu.

Wi-Fi® music sync

  • Your album art is now updated wirelessly
