Along with being Veterans’ & Binary Day, today is also the day when Apple opens its doors for consumers to pick up an unlocked iPhone 4S here in the US.   This gives you the option to use your iPhone overseas as well as the ability to use on T-Mobile’s EDGE network.   Unfortunately, this only applies to those with or using AT&T as an unlocked i4S won’t work on Verizon & Sprint CDMA networks.   Available in both Black & White colors, you can snatch up the 16GB for $649, the 32GB for $749, and the 64GB for $849. Speaking of Sprint, the carrier originally began selling their i4S unlocked for global roaming but according to SprintFeed any iPhone 4S sold today will be locked to the carrier.   You will still be able to unlock it the old-fashioned way (by being in good standing & contacting a customer service rep).   So there you have it.
