Google chairman Eric Schmidt recently talked Italian newspaper Corriere della Sea and shed some light of some big things consumers can expect in the very near future for Google products.   The head of Google says that Android plans to step up their end of the competition between them and Apple.  Google is ready to expand its Nexus brand past smartphones and move on to another avenue…tablets.

Although Eric didn’t release any details on the forthcoming Nexus tablet but let us know that we should expect sometime within 6 months from now.   Not sure if if Motorola will be involved since Google purchased Motorola Mobility recently and now have their own in-house manufacturer.   Google hopes to offer an edge with a pure Google tablet to make a bigger mark in the tablet market.

Also he addressed that Google is hard at work to bring Android users a true Siri competitor.   They hope to take better advantage of Android’s already superb voice recognition services to go head-to-head with Apple more so.   Google is already plotting to be better on all mobile fronts in 2012.   We are all looking forward to it.
