Prior to today, iPhone owners on AT&T had to have their account in good standing for a period of time before the carrier agreed to unlock your device.   There was quite an amount of hoop-jumping to get AT&T to unlock your iPhone for international support.   But today, all of that changes for the better.

Starting today, all AT&T iPhone users out-of-contract can simply request to unlock  from the carrier themselves.   Making this a standard policy to allow your iPhone freedom for your Micro-SIM needs for international roaming.   AT&T will also unlock the contract-free ones too.  Good news for you iPhone owners looking to get your iPhone free and BTW Happy Easter!
