Earlier this evening, Apple CEO Tim Cook was a guest on AllThingsD D10 conference making this his first major public interview. Of course, Walt Mossberg & Kara Swisher had plenty to ask and there was only so much he would answer or even hint at. Some of those hints pointed towards additions we can expect in iOS 6.

There were questions on why Facebook was left out of iOS 5 integration and Twitter wasn't. Tim expressed how the idea is still on table suggesting that negotiations on were part of the reason Facebook missed that ship but it sounds like it will make it for iOS 6. Tim simply said "stay tuned" on the matter.

They also talked to him about Siri as most consumers, developers, analysts, & journalists feel that sassy virtual assistant wasn't quite ready for prime time upon release due to its limitations. Tim has this say about it:

But there’s more that it can do, and we have a lot of people working on this. And I think you will be really pleased with some of the things you’re going to see over the coming months. We have some cool ideas about what Siri can do. We have a lot going on on this. Sure, it can be broader, and so forth, but we see unbelievable potential here. We’re doubling down on it.

This would suggest that Apple will roll out new features that will breathe new life into Siri. This can be a combination of Apple's native additions along with opening Siri's API to developers to incorporate it within third-party apps. Whatever the case, iOS 6 is shaping to the missing puzzle to what 5 offered.
