The minds behind Karma intends to fix the broken system that provides mobile data with their pay-as-you-go mobile hotspot service. In hopes to give everyone accessible 4G in their pockets, Karma will offer a $69 hotspot that provides 8 hours of juice on a single charge. Karma users $14 per GB w/ no monthly fees.

The 4G WiMAX will be provided by Clearwire who has service in around 80 million users. Karma lives up to the name by offering the hotspot service as an open Wi-Fi network to anyone who wants to join in by signing into their Facebook account & get 100MB for free before having to purchase their 1GB block. The Karma hotspot owner also gets 100MB of free data per user. Another cool thing about mooching off of Karma users, is that you don’t have to actually own the Karma hotspot. After they tap into the Karma network, they can still access the network if nearby as well as purchase 1GB without buying the hotspot hardware.

You sign up here to get notified when the service goes live.
