There have many of reports and rumors about Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox. We’ve already talked about it being equipped with a Blu-Ray optical drive for movies and games and an always-on Internet connection to prevent you from playing used/pirated games.   The full details lies below.

According to a source at Kotaku, the new console will be equipped with an 8-core 1.6GHz CPU, 64-bit 800MHz GPU, 8GB of RAM, 500GB of storage, USB 3.0 & HDMI out ports. These specs will grant console gamers multitasking where you can play multiple games or apps at once. In other words: you can play one title, ‘freeze’ that one and play another one. This bit supports the rumor of games needing to be downloaded to play. Also, an improved Kinect will be shipping with the new console. The new accessory can now capture up to 6 people at once w/ more trackable joints + depth & color reproduction.
There is talk of Microsoft prepping to tease us all with a small morsel of info about it before Sony’s unveils the PlayStation 4 at the end of the month. At the present time, Microsoft’s gaming + entertainment has already outsold Sony and Nintendo. They have over 76 million consoles sold w/ 46 million of them having Xbox Live accounts and over 24 million Kinect units sold. I’m thinking the price point will be around $400, maybe even a little bit more. Who’s ready or upset about the new Xbox?
