Last time we heard about Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox unveiling, it was shortly after Sony’s PS4 announcement.  Last we heard, Microsoft was originally going to an announcement during this year’s E3 but after Sony pulled the trigger they wanted to push it up a bit.  First they was supposed to have a press event in April but now seems to be pushed back.

According to The Verge‘s resident Microsoft insider, Tom Warren, says he’s heard the new date for the press event is now May 21st.  Along with that, we continue to hear more rumblings on this new Xbox requiring an always-on Internet connection.  So that definitely might be a new feature making its way to consumers changing the gaming world.  Expect the next Xbox to launch officially later this year to go head-to-head with the PS4 for the holidays.
