Ever since the success and awesomeness of the revamped Batman Arkham gaming franchise, there have been talks of another sequel to the series – mainly a prequel. Now we have the official word courtesy of Game Informer. This focuses on a young, refined Bruce Wayne as batman encountering his great foes for the 1st time.
“Eight of the best assassins in the world have come to Gotham City for one night, Christmas Eve of all nights, to kill the Bat.”
Although the title has Arkham in it, this takes place inside Gotham City. Simply mirroring the free-world landscape from Arkham City. As you see on the cover, Deathstroke will be present and since we’re talking assassins – look for Dead Shot, Lady Shiva, and the Al Ghul family.
The developers behind the previous Batman titles (Rocksteady) won’t be involved on this one. Warner Bros Montreal will be crafting this one. Don’t worry, WB Montreal has access to Rocksteady’s code so there shouldn’t a real difference in gameplay/graphics. Arkham Origins is coming onOctober 21st to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and with companion games headed to Nintendo 3DS & the PS Vita. It should be very interesting.
