Originally thought to be called Sea Lion, Apple playfully revealed the true name of their new desktop software as Mavericks.  This was a bit of a mystery in our WWDC expectations thanks Apple’s doubling-down on secrecy.  Mavericks is bragging over 200 new features its bringing to the table.
  • Tabbed Finder windows
  • Improved support for multiple displays
  • Works better with Apple TV – you can now use your HDTV as a 2nd screen
  • Safari gets updated with a new Bookmarks bar & improved performance
  • Better password management with iCloud keychain
  • Notifications are enhanced with better syncing between iOS and Mac
These are just a few.  Mainly the new additions seem to have been in favor of the power users which I have no complaints.  You can get more information here.
But alas it is here. Mavericks will become available as a digital download later in the fall (more like around September).
