Earlier today, T-Mobile had their big ‘Uncarrier 2.0’ event and made many announcements in regard to the carrier’s new direction.   The carrier revealed the rapid expansion of their newly christened LTE network to many metro areas in only 4 months.  Actually exceeding their initial goal of covering 100 million subscribers.  We were live at the event and the 1st thing we did was give their devices a speed tests to see what T-Mo is working with.  Our results lie below.

I got download speeds from 57Mbps to 67Mbps and on the upload side, 18Mbps to 22Mbps.  These speeds are pretty insane!  Of course as more subscribers get on to the network, those numbers won’t stay the same but they are great peak speeds.

It is obvious that the HSPA+ network that many have scoffed at is the foundation for their fast speeds & backup 4G network.

Our test subjects were: the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, & the Sony Xperia Z.  The Nokia Lumia 925 was present but had problems connecting to a nearby server to complete a true speed test.
