Everything was all good just one month ago.  Vine’s popularity was spiking as Instagram user were flocking to Twitter’s 6-second video app.  That all ended when Instagram created some competition with Video for Instagram, which used 15-second of footage, filters, & easier editing.  While this isn’t its anticipated 2.0 update, v1.3 does have some interesting new tricks for you to play with.

This new update is revenge of the Vine.

The new update offers better ways to search through Vines with the 15 category channels, the ability to revine (think retweeting), bug fixes, better caching, and crash fixes.  But the biggest change is the ability to add a grid, add fixed focus, and ghost tools all to make better videos Vines.

The v1.3 update is available for iOS now and is expected to land for Android sometime next week.
