As rumors previously suggested, the Hangouts app gets built-in texting. Google announced today during their Google+ event, many new features to come to photo/editing for Google+ social network but before getting into that they turned to what’s new on the Hangouts app for both Android & iOS. Today, they bring you built-in SMS texting, animated GIFs, and location sharing to all of your contacts. This update applies to both the Android and iOS app as the updates will begin to roll out sometime later today. So be on the lookout for it.
No word on video-chatting as of yet but that was said to arrive at a later update when MMS texting becomes supported.
