Sony QX-10 Lens


Sony’s new QX lenses are a new breed of cameras as they are attachments to your Android or iPhone.  It uses your smartphone display as a viewfinder and connects via Wi-Fi.  This is one of two QX lenses as this is less expensive one.  The QX-10 offers an 18.2MP sensor w/ 10x optical zoom, and 1080p HD video for causal photos + videos.

Sony RX100 Mk II

Hailed by many as the best point-and-shoot of the year, we can actually agree.  The 2nd-generation RX100 offers a 20.2MP 1inch CMOS Carl Zeiss sensor w/ 3.6x optical zoom, a tilting LCD display, hotshoe, and Wi-Fi capabilities.  This little guy can easily become your main shooter or a reliable backup for seasoned photographers.  It will cost you though. 

Sony NEX-6

Sony’s mirrorless shooter is a lightweight & powerful performer that can create documentaries, movies, or YouTube videos. Sporting a 16.1MP APS-C sensor w/ 16-50mm power zoom lens, powered by the Bionz image processing CPU, 3inch LCD display, Wi-Fi, and OLED viewfinder. It is small enough to expand by attaching an L-bracket or adding a video light to the hotshoe.

Sony Alpha 7

Sony’s latest represents the future of photography w/ the Alpha 7 – the 1st full-frame mirrorless shooter.  Armed w/ a 35mm 24.3MP sensor, XGA Super OLED electronic viewfinder, 3inch tilting LCD display, shoot photos at 5 fps, Wi-Fi + NFC, record 1080p video at 24 or 60 fps and output 4K images and weather-sealed.  The future does come at a cost though but it is defintely worth it to shed some of that weight that comes w/ full-frame DLSRs.

Nikon D7100

For DSLR enthusiasts everywhere we got our pick of the desired shooter for you.  The D7100 gives you a 24.1MP CMOS sensor, 3.2inch LCD dipslay, shoots at 6fps, record time lapse + slow motion videos, record 1080p HD video@60i/50i/30/25/24fps, two stereo mics, 2 SD card slots, and a 1900 mAh battery all inside of a weatherproof body.  Released earlier this year, this is the high-end DLSR for photographers: professional or amateur.

Canon EOS 70D

Canon beefed up their mid-level DSLR line w/ EOS 7D.  This upgrade to the 60D focuses even more so on video w/ camcorder-like autofocusing.  Along w/ its new tricks you still have a 20.2MP CMOS sensor, 3inch LCD touchscreen display, 19-point AF system, & built-in sharing via NFC + Wi-Fi.  This is ideal the up-and-coming filmmaker and professional YouTubers.
