Google surprised us all late in the year when they unveiled the Chromecast.  This is a new way to stream content from your Android or iOS device – straight to your TV.   Its a $35 HDMI dongle that mirrors content from your smartphone, tablet or computer. new dongle will support Netflix, YouTube, HBO Go, Pandora, & Google Play Movies…for now.  We expect more services coming soon.

Fitbit Force

The latest from Fitbit offers your all-in-one watch + fitness solution w/ the Force.  It works by tracking your steps, distance walked/ran, flights of stairs climbed, calories burned, and time asleep (how well you slept & how many times you woke up in the middle of the night). The Force displays the time like a watch, equipped w/ an alarm, and is water-resistant but not to be confused w/ smartwatches like the Pebble or Galaxy Gear.

Leap Motion Controller
Leap Motion represents the future of how you will use your computer.  With it you can point, wave, reach, grab, pick something up and move it as it comes w/ its own suite of apps.  It weighs less than 1lbs and is only 3inches long and takes little to no space on your workstation.  Think of it as the beta of Tony Stark’s computer or a more intuitive version of Microsoft’s Kinect for your computer.  Great for kids and adults alike.

Nike+ FuelBand SE

While other fitness trackers may seek to be your all-in-one solution, the Fuelband focuses more on the fitness.  The FuelBand tracks steps taken, calories burned, doubles as a watch, and tracks your fitness goals against yours and friends.  Retaining its waterproof design as the 2nd generation adds Bluetooth 4.0 LE support and more bold colors to choose from.  But its only iPhone friendly though.

For many smartphone users out there, the standard battery just won’t cut it.  There are plenty of battery cases out there but we are in love w/ TYLT’s Energi cases.  They support devices like the iPhone 5/5s and Galaxy S III/S 4 boosting their batteries to give you a 2nd life by a press of a button.  For iPhones you get a 2500 mAh battery and for the Galaxy series you get a 2300 mAh one.  This will get you a lot of appreciation throughout the year.
