IF you are among the many who picked up the Nexus 5, you were left wanting more from the camera’s abilities.  Where there is an issue there is a software update to fix it for the most part and that’s exactly what Google has been working on.  The Verge spoke w/ Dave Burke who is the head of Android engineering that explains that the new Android 4.4.1 is coming make it all better.

The update will focus on 5 different categories of the camera for improvements.  You can expect the camera app to launch faster, improved auto-focus, progress indicator on HDR+ mode, speeding up the framerate, and improving the overall auto-focus, exposure, & white balance of a photo.  Don’t expect changes in the camera UI just yet but they are in the works to arrive in the future.

Expect the update to begin rolling out within the next few days
