In case you thought the Moto G was Motorola’s vision for an inexpensive smartphone experience, think again.  Following the welcome embrace of the budget-friendly device, Motorola thinks they can make it better (& cheaper) one.  During a recent interview w/ Trusted Reviews, Moto CEO Dennis Woodside spoke more in depth on the matter.

The Moto G sports some impressive specs + overall experience for a device w/ that price point.  Woodside states that the $179 price tag on the Moto G is a lot of $$$ for some parts of the world where a similar but cheaper device would be more welcomed.

“We’re going to look at that and just delivering on that value promise is super important. I mean why can’t these devices be $50? There’s no reason that can’t happen so we’re going to push that.” Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside

But there’s even more they’re working on.  Motorola is also hard at work to bring forth new customization options beyond color schemes and such.  He gave an example of not having the option to choose screen sizes and that is something they’re looking to bring forth within the next year or so.

Sounds like a nice mesh of Project Ara-like options for you to build your device for a future model of the Moto X.  I love Motorola’s push for innovation within the cellular world.  How do you feel about it all?
