Well it took Apple long enough.  They finally killed off the iPad 2 as their budget-friendly full-sized slate.  So say goodbye to the non-Retina, 30-pin connector tablet and say hello to all things Retina.  Apple has replaced it w/ the Retina display, Lightning connector 4th-gen iPad for the same price of $399 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model and $529 for the LTE model.   Along w/ a high-resolution display, the 4th-generation slate offers a much faster dual-core A6X CPU, 5MP iSight rear-facing shooter, and a 1.2MP FaceTime camera.

All I can say is good riddance and hello beautiful.
