Sony has been doing some great things on the optic side of things over the past few years and continues to do so.   This is the 3rd iteration of the RX100 as it gets better to continue to hold the crown as the best point-and-shoot camera on the market.  It has a 1inch 20.2MP sensor, 24-70mm lens, rotating LCD display, Wi-Fi + NFC, pop-up OLED viewfinder, and 1080p video capabilities.  All this in a small package priced at $798.

Sony A6000

Sony-A6000

Sony has been killing the mirrorless market and w/ their latest offering, the A6000 is another fine example of that.  This is their top of the line offering as it has a 24MP APS-C sensor, 179 points of focus, great in low-light, Wi-Fi + NFC, and many manual options.  The A6000 is priced at the same price of the RX100, you can do a bit more and change lenses w/ this portable shooter.

Samsung NX30

nx30

Samsung has been quietly building + improving in the optical department as their latest w/ the NX30 proves that.  Its a mirrorless inside of a DSLR-looking body.  Armed w/ a 20.3MP APS-C sensor, a hybrid auto-focus system, lighting fast shutter speed at 1/8000th of a second, fast sharing of photos/video via Wi-Fi + NFC, 1080p HD video, and included a free copy of Adobe Lightroom 5 for photo editing.  The NX30 will cost you $850 to pick up.

Canon SL1

While still a DSLR, Canon's latest is a lot smaller + lighter to carry around w/ the SL1.  Armed w/ a 18MP APS-C sensor, a 9-point AF system, 3inch touchscreen LCD, and continuous shooting at 4fps.  The SL1 is more like a smaller version of the T5i.  The SL1 can be yours for the lovely price of $650.

Sony A7

Sony's 1st full-frame mirrorless is back on our list again.  Definitely the most pricey on the camera list but still the most impressive.  Again this is a full-frame 24-70mm lens shooter w/ a 24.3MP sensor, fast hybrid AF system, Wi-Fi +NFC, and both headphone + mic jack on board.  Currently the A7 is $1,800 w/ the kit lens but still cheaper than other full-frame cameras on the market right now.
