Android Wear live
While we don’t know exactly what we will or won’t see at HTC’s event later today.  We now know that a smartwatch won’t be one of them.  The folks over at ReCode spoke to 2 key people over at HTC to get some clarity on company’s wearable status.

HTC USA CEO Jason Mackenzie told the site that,

“We had originally planned to have a wearable launch in this time frame.  But it ended up just both being ready.”

Also head of HTC’s Creative Labs, Drew Bamford, spoke on the matter as well.  He says,

“We’ve seen a lot of general purpose wearbales come to market.  There’s not a strong reason to wear one everyday.  When we come to market with our product we want to make sure the product has a strong point of view and there is a really compelling reason to strap it on your wrist.  We think the strategy we were working on will get us there, but we want to take our time and get it right. We honestly don’t think anyone got it right.

So in other words, look out for HTC’s Android Wear contribution sometime next year.
