In the audio industry Bose is synonymous w/ great sound + excellence.  They have been for the majority of the 50 years they have been around.  As the times changed, newer companies are beginning to take over the spotlight due to either competing sound quality or just great marketing.  Nowadays, its all about Beats and Sonos when it comes to sound.

Bose isn't going anywhere.  They recently released their latest in their noise-canceling headphones w/ the QuietComfort 25. We've been testing these for several weeks now.  On trains, at my day job where there is loud machines running all day, and just at home at times.  Is Bose is still progressing against the rising wave of audio competition?  Or starting to show signs of falter?  We are ready to let you know if you.

Design/Comfort

The QC25s are well-crafted as they're made of premium materials like cast-zinc to make them lightweight while still brandishing an exceptional look to them.  The headband has a suede-like material that rests on the top of your head or hat (depending on your usage).  The cups are foldable as they encase your entire ear.   On the left can lies an On/Off switch for active noise cancellation and ships w/ an airplane adapter so you can be ready for flight.  It also has an inline mic/remote so they can be used for phones calls as well controlling you music w/o having to dig out your smartphone.

Inside of the cups lie a soft, leather cushion to make ensure you don't know the words uncomfortable when wearing these.  I can wear them all-day (8 hours or more) w/o them becoming uncomfortable in any way, shape, or form.  Job well done, Bose in design and comfort.  Nailed it!

Sound

As far as everything being pumped out them, they sounded amazing.  This is due to a combination of Bose's Active EQ + noise-canceling.  This duo is everything you need in a pair of headphones.  The actual noise-cancelling part of the QC25s are powered by a single AAA battery.  They give you a spare for when that runs out but the headphones still sound great even w/o its abilities.  But w/ that switch on, it is purely sound supreme and it blocks everything around you where its just you and your music you hear.

I tested it out playing the Guardians of the Galaxy Mixtape, Hall + Oates, Jimi Hendrix, Pusha T, Common, Cold Play, and some Big Pun.  Thanks to Bose's Active EQ, you can enjoy a great balance bass, treble, and clarity.  When rocking out, you can absorb new elements in the background you may have never heard before on your favorite or familiar song like new instruments, vocal arrangements, and other background tracks of the song.  I am not exactly surprised when it comes to Bose but still managed to be blown away by the sound quality.

Bose QC25 review grade

Its gonna be hard for a company to outdo what Bose did w/ the Quiet Comfort 25s.

TG 2 Cents

At the end of the day, these awesome headphones are noise-cancelling.  So another pair of great quality headphones could sound better.  But in regards to blocking out noise, it'll be hard to find a better solution.  The Quiet Comfort 25s are a pair of great headphones that handles audio superbly.  But I do like the fact that Bose added a ColorWare option to truly customize your headphones for an additional $100.  I had zero qualms in regards to sound or the headphones in general.  Instead of dropping that kind of $$$ on Beats, I urge you to demo these before doing so.  Beyond that, there's nothing else more to say on how great they are.

To Buy Or Not To Buy

For $300 the Quiet Comfort 25s won't be for everyone although many competitors charge that and more.  These are an investment into sound.  Ideal for the frequent flier, bus/train commute, or just an someone who appreciates great sound.  If any o this criteria applies to you, buy this.  You won't regret it.
