If you have ever been a gamer in some point of your life, you know about Sim City.  It has been a staple in simulation games that has lasted the test of time as well as evolved into another game w/ The Sims.

Last week, we were invited to a holiday showcase by the good folks over at EA Games.  While it was packed, I was able to stop by and demo what’s new to the EA Mobile side of things.  One of the big things there was Sim City Build It.  That’s right, Sim City for mobile devices.

sim city build it
It is called Sim City Build It and it is a great adaption from PC/console to the mobile front.  Not much watered down at all.  You still have the option build + control a city as the mayor.  This means dispatching the fire department to fires, building hospitals in areas where people are sick, and the occasional rebuilding after alien encounters.  With it being mobile, you can pinch/zoom into your city as well as rotate it 360-degrees via touchscreen.  It’s almost like an augmented reality on the Google Maps 3D view.

The game will be free to all things mobile (via Android & iOS) and is coming in the very near future.  There will be some in-app purchases available as well.
