Halo 5: Guardians is set to be a new mark within the Halo universe as it is the 1st Halo to launch on the Microsoft's next-gen console.  So you can imagine the type of expectations many gamers + Halo fans would anticipate.  Thanks to the good folks over at Microsoft , we were granted early access for the beta version of the multiplayer.  We spent as much of the weekend as we could playing trying to get a good handle on it.  Time to see what Microsoft + 343 Industries has been working on w/ Halo 5.

Halo 5 is shaping up to be really, really good.

For starters, there was only the content from 'Week One' where it offers only 2 maps: Empire + Truth w/ each stage offering up one power weapon that has timed access.  Empire offers the Sniper Rifle while Truth has the Prophet's Bane or Energy Sword.  The weapon load out for beta is a Magnum + Assault Rifle while a DMR, Battle Rifle + SMG lie on each stage.

Even though it is beta, I didn't come across many hiccups other than sometimes a long intermission or getting kicked out occasionally.  Overall its still Halo multiplayer at the core but it is definitely more evolved to compete w/ the rest of the online shooters out there.  Everything is faster and really taking advantage of the Xbox One GPUs.

Definitely looking forward to the full beta that grants access to more stages + weapons each week.  The official beta will rollout to those who bought the Master Chief Collection on December 29th.
