windows 10
Today Microsoft finally unveiled what they have been working on w/ the Windows 10 platform.   This is a preview of everything that will be coming to PCs, tablets, Windows Phone, and the Xbox One.  Previously we knew that Microsoft was looking to have this be the bridging gap to connect all things running Windows.  And here are – more or less.

For starters, we have the return of the Start Menu,  an Action Center for quick toggles for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc, improved multitasking and UI.  But apparently that was just scratching the surface of what Windows 10 is all about.  We made it easier for you by highlighting all of the cool + interesting features the latest form Microsoft has to offer.  Let’s get to it.

Cortana

Microsoft’s virtual assistant, Cortana, is graduating from Windows Phone and making tis way to arrive to all thing running Windows 10.   She’s smarter, more fine tuned, and is embedded throughout the entire OS.  She’ll help you keep organized as well as staying up to date w/ all of your desired information of the day.  You can do searches via Bing as well as have conversations w/ her.  The future is here and now – or when the OS becomes available to all anyways.

Say Hello To Their New Web Browser

Microsoft is well-aware that no one uses internet Explorer anymore.  Even w/ a look and being faster – no one was interested.  So they’ve been hard at work on an entirely new web browser codenamed Project Spartan.   Thta’s not the new name as it has yet to be announced.  This will have better support for touch + annotation support (with or w/o a stylus)  as it is now a lot more sharable.  This along w/ the power of Cortana should make this a much better experience for all.   Hopefully.

Universal Apps For The PC

No more different looks for the same apps across  different devices.  So you’ll have Outlook (which is the 1st one announced) to look the same on a PC as it would on a Windows Phone.  Metro style apps for all.  Say goodbye to fragmentation on all things Windows as Microsoft is looking to dead that problem.

Cross Device Multiplayer + Game DVR

Thanks to a new Xbox app arriving to your PCs, this will give you the gaming power of the Xbox One on your desktop or laptop.  The app will allows you access Game DVR for recording + sharing clips w/ PC games by hitting Windows + G buttons.  You will also be able to stream Xbox One games to your PC, laptop, or Surface.  This applies for multiplayer games as well so this means COD: Advanced Warfare Kill Confirmed online form your Surface can happen.  You can share your Xbox One game library w/ your PCs in the same home.Just as along as both devices share the same Wi-Fi network and you’re golden.

Its Free

Those of you who have systems running Windows 7, 8.1, or Windows Phone 8.1, can get the upgrade free of charge.  So for the 1st time, Windows users won’t have to pay to get the latest OS software.  Finally.
