BTW, welcome to our 1st non-tech review.  This time around we've taken the Justice League: Throne of Atlantis on Blu-Ray/DVD.  This is another story adapted from the New 52 continuity that follows up Justice League: War.

ICYMI: this stars the same JL lineup from War w/ Batman, Flash (Barry Allen), Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Cyborg, Shazam, and the Power Couple: Superman + Wonder Woman.  With the vocal talents of Shemar Moore, Rosario Dawson, Jerry O'Connell, Nathan Fillion, Sean Astin, Harry Lennix, + Jason O'Mara. Also like War, you got the anime-styled visuals to match the story which is actually similar to JL Unlimited episode.  Don't worry no spoilers here as you can dive in below.

Let's be clear, this is a Aquaman movie featuring the newly-formed Justice League.

JLAtlantis

This introduces the world of Atlantis to the rest of the world so w/ that we get Mera, Orm aka Ocean Master + Black Manta along for the ride.  This is a new type of Atlantis that shows how advanced + powerful they are against our champions above the surface.

Unlike other DC animated films this one has a bit more changes in the adaption.  So if you're familiar w/ the source material, you can definitely expect some changes in the plot.  You will see a great display of death by water, lots of stabbing, some humor, and one curse word all within the 72 minutes. I wish it was a little bit longer to see a bit of more development of Arthur from being a lost soul to stepping into his shoes at the ruler of Atlantis.   That would be the only faux pas of this one.

 JL Alantis review grade

For the uninitiated, you'll see Aquaman in a different light.  Hopefully to dispel the perception of only talking to fish.

TG 2 Cents

Even though this is our 1st official review of one, I have seen them all.  From Mask of the Phantasm to current.  Though it doesn't beat Under The Red Hood or the Flashpoint Paradox for me per se.  There's enough foreshadowing where you don't have to watch JL: War to know what is going on.  But if you want to see more fo the new 52 JL, you'll have to watch that to see them go to work.  While it is has some flaws, still better than about 90% of the animation marvel has put out.  Definitely another great animated movie from DC.  And if you didn't already know, the next release is Batman vs. Robin.

*Thanks again to WB Entertainment for providing us w/ the Blu-Ray/DVD/Ultraviolet copy of the movie.*
