Looks like we now know why Apple TV got a price cut announced at the Apple Watch event.  They’re making way for the newer model apparently.  According to John Paczkowski now at Buzzfeed, we can expect to see the new-and-improved model at this year’s WWDC.

Apple is going to have a lot to offer this fall.

The newer version is said to be a slimmer redesign of the current look but would add more features to the mix.  We will see voice integration + Siri support as well as an App Store and an entirely redesign OS.  A new tactile remote control is coming along for the ride as well.

We can expect more internal storage and running Apple’s latest A8 CPU for faster internals.  The last time it has been refreshed was back in 2012 so it appears to be right on time.

The new Apple TV is set to be unveiled this summer and go on sale later in the fall.  Since Apple’s TV streaming service should be ready by then, they will push them to go hand-in-hand.
