G4 official 2
Easily one of the worst kept secrets from LG is their 2015 flagship: the G4.  LG hopes to go for a more premium device to compete w/ the rest of the upper-echelon of Android.  After seeing what the device looked like previously, we still aren’t quite sure on the details like the specs & features.  Today in NYC all was finally revealed.

On the outside, LG made sure to incorporate a premium feel for the device by utilizing 100% real leather for the rear shell that comes in Black & Brown as well as metallic or ceramic exterior to choose from.  The G4 has a 5.5inch Quantum 2K IPS (2560 x 1440 w/ 538ppi) display.  Inside we now have a 1.8GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 808 multi-core CPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage along w/ 115GB of Google Drive storage, a removable 3000 mAh battery, micro SD support of up to 2TB, and running Android 5.1 Lollipop on top of LG’s own UX.

LG made their cameras ideal for mobile photographers and continues to raise the bar on photography.

Now moving onto the camera side of things.  This has a f/1.8 16MP rear-facing camera w/ improved OIS (optical image stabilization) and laster auto-focus, a larger sensor size as well as an additional color spectrum sensor for more accurate color reproduction for photos/video.  The new software really takes advantage of manual mode that looks official as well adding the ability to shoot photos in RAW & record video in 4K.  LG made sure not to short-change the front-facing shooter on this one either.  As it now has a f/2.0 8MP shooter w/ gesture control and a selfie light.

There is no Quick Charge or wireless charging features on this flagship but w/ a swappable big battery, you more than likely won’t need it.  The G4 will be available on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and Verizon.  Pricing has yet to be unveiled.
