We know that Apple is overdue for a new Apple TV refresh as we can expect something new to unveiled this summer.  One of the things we expected it to offer is supporting 4K or UHD content.  But it looks like that’s not going to happen.

Apple doesn’t think 4K is ready yet.

According to BuzzFeed‘s John Paczkowski, the new Apple TV will stick to 1080p.   Apple’s new streaming hub is said to be powered by an A8 CPU that can actually support UHD.  They think 4K is still in its infancy stage as they might be right as there still isn’t a ton of 4K content.  Perhaps when more content makes it way to outlets, Apple may hit the switch for it.

Other than that, you still have tons of new features along w/ access to Apple’s new streaming TV service to hold you down.  I hope that doesn’t put a damper on picking one up.
