gopro hero 4 session
It was teased before briefly via YouTube and it is now here and officially unveiled to the world.  Meet GoPro’s newest & smallest camera to-date w/ the Hero4 Session.   This is a small cube-shaped camera that retains all of the internals & performance you’ve come to know & love from GoPro.

Think of it as a smaller Hero4 that doesn’t shoot in 4K or have an LCD display.

The new Session is armed w/ an 8MP sensor that can capture photos in single, burst, and even time lapse modes.  On the video side of things, it can record 720p @100fps, 1080p @60fps, and 1440p @fps so no 4K on this one.  It still retains GoPro’s recording modes like SuperView, Protune, & Auto Low Light video modes.

It doesn’t have a display so you’ll have to rely upon GoPro’s Smart Remote or their app on your smartphone to change/adjust the settings.  The Session is already waterproof out of the box as no housing is needed for that.  It is ruggedized to be waterproof up to 33ft.  It has built-in dual mics for to get great audio during high-wind & water activities.

The Session’s one-button touch is easy to use as a short press takes photos and a long press records video.  It is compatible w/ GoPro’s lineup of accessories already available for purchase.  It launches next week on July 12th and is priced at $399.99.  This would make a great introduction into GoPro and its lineup of products.
