iphone 6s 6s plusWelcome to the moment you’ve been waiting for: the 2015 line of iPhones.  We have the 4.7inch iPhone 6S and the 5.5inch iPhone 6S Plus.  At 1st glance its the same but this isn’t your usual S-line.  This one is a bit more powerful than those of previous years.

The new iPhones are utilizing a new stronger 7000 series aluminum – the same one on the Apple Watch.  This along w/ a stronger glass display should prevent another #bendgate from happening.  Hopefully.  Inside you have a faster 64-bit A9 CPU which will be 70% faster than last year’s iPhone and 90% faster GPU onboard as well.  Also, Touch ID gets better to faster & more accurate.

Apple’s new Force Touch display and 12MP camera might make this the most interesting one in years.

Force Touch from the Apple Watch makes its way tot he iPhone as it is now called 3D Touch.  It will allow you to access new options when completing tasks in iOS 9 w/ Peek & Pop.  For example w/ Peek: in Mail you can long press for a quick preview of the message and in Maps do the same to peek at directions too.  With Pop, you can pull up photo & video overlays w/o leaving from where you were.

There are new cameras on board as well w/ a 5MP FaceTime HD camera & a 12MP iSight rear-facing camera.  Finally! That rear camera has been 8MP since 2012.  You also have enhanced autofocus, improved pixels for better color/image quality.  The best part is that is can finally record video in 4K.  This bit of news will make the 16GB storage size obsolete – unless Apple is encoding it similar to how Panasonic does w/ the GH4.  The front-facing camera doesn’t have a flash but it will utilize the screen like how the G4 does it as well.

The new iPhone 6S will start at $199 w/ on contract for the 16GB model, the 32GB for $299, and 64GB for $399.  The 6S Plus starts at $299 for the 16GB model, 32GB for $399, and 64GB for $499.  Pre-orders kick off on Saturday on September 12th and will be available on the 25th.  There’s also a new Rose Gold color added to the mix.

Which one are you getting?
