Although many would say Casio has been doing smartwatches (or early forms of them) for decades.  This one would be a more modern version of one as they have teamed up w/ Android Wear to bring us the Smart Outdoor Watch.  And as you can tell by its appearance, its made for the rugged crowd.

More specifically, those who love outdoor activities like running, hiking, camping, fishing, cycling and much more.  To make up its rugged exterior is a military grade body that is shock + water-resistant up to 50 meters.  It also includes exclusive specs like a pressure sensor & compass onboard.

As far as the rest of the specs, you got a 1.32inch dual-layer LCD display w/ 320 x 300 resolution which will improve the batteyr life and help w/ visibility in various lighting conditions.  You’ll also have several hardware buttons that do different things like access the step counter, sunset/sunrise times, air pressure/altitude, compass direction and more.

The Casio Smart Outdoor Watch will arrive sometime in April for $499 and will have 4 different color options for you to choose from like Red, Orange, Black, and Green.   I’m actually kind of digging it.  Maybe it my teenage love w/ Casio/G-Shock watches talking but I, for one, am actually looking forward to this one.
