Always travelling to different events & meetings, I need select items and a bag to help me move/work effectively.  I always need select items w/ me in order to me to work effectively like laptop, camera, & much more.  I'm used to carrying more than less, you can attribute that to heavy bookbags in my high school days.  Here are the essentials I use just about every time I'm out and about.

Sony NEX-7

Yup, still shooting just about everything w/ the OG mirrorless: the Sony NEX-7.  I still get great photos/videos out of this little guy and helps that small enough to not eat up too much room.  I've been able to pick up a few pieces of glass to improve the quality w/ the f/2.8 20mm lens + f/1.8 50mm lens.  Definitely stopped using the kit lens.

Surface Pro 3

The 3rd-generation Surface Pro is still my go to laptop, also my only one nonetheless.  It is light enough to not slow me down during my travels but powerful enough to do some photo & light video editing while on the move.  Fortunately, I got close to the top tier model w/ a Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM, & 256GB SSD.  Still no complaints but I need to upgrade to the Surface Pro 4 keyboard to make things more complete.

Logitech MX Master 2 Mouse

While the Pro 3 does have a trackpad, I do need a bit more control for navigation.  For that, I turn to my MX Master 2 Bluetooth mouse.  It is not the smallest but is absolutely the most comfortable w/ programmable buttons + laser sensor.  It can be paired w/ up to 3 different devices makes it easy to use on my iMac at home and on my Surface when travelling.

Plantronics BackBeat Sense

Continuing my theme of lightweight products, Plantronics is handling my audio needs.  At work I use my BackBeat Pro+ but when mobile, I use the BackBeat Sense.  Super lightweight, long battery life, and robust audio quality.  Between the Smart Sensors + the OpenMic feature, you can keep your ears open to the world instead of being tuned out.

Business Cards + Altoids

Running a site, meeting people & networking is essential.  Whether you are an extrovert or an introvert like me, you have to do it.  When doing so, you need to make sure you have your info handy while trying making it painless for whoever you meet.  So business cards & peppermint Altoids are w/ me always.

Notepad + Pen

As much as I do damn-near everything digitally, I do like to keep a few things analog.  While attending long press conferences or meetings, I still like to write things down physically w/ a little notepad & pen. Also, ideal for ideas & thoughts that may arrive throughout the day as well.

STM Drifter Energy Backpack

So I still need something that fit everything mentioned above & more in case we leave events w/ goodies/swag.  So for that, I turn to the Drifter Energy backpack.  Other than the fact of having everything you might need in a backpack; which includes 10 different compartments (inside + outside), side pockets for water bottles, padded shoulder straps,  can hold up to a 15inch laptop, and is water-resistant turtle shell cover hidden on the bottom.

STM Drifter Bag Review

The Energy part of this bag is a 3500 mAh Joey battery inside that can add double the battery life for smartphones & tablets.  It is a smart battery that can recognize your device to adjust charge speed, sense temperature, and can go to sleep and hold power for months.  For most events (unveilings, meetings, etc.), I prefer to go Batman-style w/ being prepared for almost anything.  With this backpack, I can do just that.
