Say hello to Allo: their entirely new smart messaging service w/ the power of Google built inside. Now for those of you who love Hangouts, this won’t be a replacement as this is set to do a lot more. Like a whole lot more.
Google put AI into their new messaging service.
Allo allows you to utilize a new version of emoji & stickers Google call Expressions, send full-sized photos that you can draw on, Smart Replies, and the power of Google’s new Assistant by adding automation and intuitive responses like making dinner reservations via Open Table and more. Think of it as a mesh of FB Messenger, Hangouts, and lots of free range.
Allo will learn over time to make conversation simpler and more productive. So Hangouts have a few years before users get shuttled over to Allo. Expect it to arrive sometime this summer for both Android and iOS.
