Today, Google made their Family Library for their app store official.  Meet the Google Play Family Library: a new way to share purchased content (movies, TV shows, apps, games & books) to up to 6 users.  This will work w/ iOS devices as well as they can view movies, TV shows, or read books.

You will have to opt-in for the feature and then you’ll be able to share select content to up to 6 family members.  To access shared content, you’ll have to go to the Family Library in your listings to view your shared Library.  All content save for except for music as Google Play Music already has a Family Plan option that you will have to be a part of to access.

When you sign up & created your family account, you’ll have to pick a payment method that everyone can use moving forward.  You’ll still have the option for each member to pay using their own credit card or even gift cards.  There’s also the option to make certain members require approval for any purchase too.

The rollout for Family Library will kick off today as you can expect to get it within the next few days.
