Nintendo wanted to make sure they’re properly riding the wave from all of the Pokemon Go mania taking over everywhere the game is available.  This morning, they unveiled the NES: Classic Edition.  It will be a lot smaller and will connect to your TV via HDMI and will even offer up save points.

No, the older cartridge system won’t work as all of the games are built in like other nostalgic game systems.  It will ship w/ the OG controller w/ just the D-Pad, Select, Start, B + A buttons.  The NES Classic will offer Wii support too BTW.  You can plug the controller into a Wii Remote and play Virtual Console Games the Wii/Wii U.

Oh and back to the 30 games included, I don’t think OG Nintendo fans will be disappointed at all.  They’re listed below:

Balloon Fight, Bubble Bobble, Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Double Dragon II: The Revenge, Dr. Mario, Excitebike, Final Fantasy, Galaga, Ghosts’N Goblins, Gradius, Ice Climber, Kid Icarus, Kirby’s Adventure, Mario Bros., Mega Man 2, Metroid, Ninja Gaiden, Pac-Man, Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream, StarTropics, Super C, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Tecmo Bowl, The Legend of Zelda, and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
