apple-watch-series-2

And for our 1st big reveal of the day: the Apple Watch Series 2. On the outside it pretty much looks exactly the same but there are quite the few additions coming to Series 2. Let’s get into them shall we?

For starters its durability to water has improved, it is now swim proof as in water-resistant for up to 50 meters of water. They had to redesign the speaker system so it can push out excess water that may get inside w/o damaging your watch internals. Powering Series 2 is their new dual-core S2 CPU and a new GPU as well. The displays is now 2x brighter as they upped the nits on it to 1000. And lastly, GPS will be added for better accuracy as well as 3rd-party developers having access to it. Obviously, this will be armed w/ watchOS3 to offer up new watch faces, better messaging, better battery life, and much more.

The Apple Watch Series 2 will arrive in aluminum, stainless steel and a new Ceramic build. They have also worked w/ Nike to create the Apple Watch Nike+ that offers a special (and ugly) band made just for runners. And lastly, they will be teaming up w/ Hermes again for special watch bands for Series 2 as well.

The Series 2 will start at $369 and Apple updated the original Watch now called Series 1 w/ an upgraded CPU will now start at $269. Pre-orders start on September 9th and goes on sale on the 13th.
