HP august 2016-4Today, HP unveils 2 new PCs under their Desktop Reinvention line w/ the Pavilion Wave and the Elite Slice.  The Wave is geared towards consumers while the Elite is for the enterprise crowd.  Both are made to be space savers for the most part but let's dive into what makes them different.

The Pavilion Wave offers a design that is 85% smaller than your standard PCs at about the size of a gallon of milk.  You might wonder why it resembles a speaker and that's because it is that too.   You got 360-degree audio powered by Bang & Olufsen that I can voucher for in pumping out loud + crisp audio for media and more.

Inside you can configure it up to a 6th-gen Core i7 CPU, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1 TB SSD/2TB HD, and an optional AMD R9 GPU.  You also have dual mics to enable Cortana and powerful enough 4K displays.  As far as ports go you'll have a 3 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB-C, combo headphone/mic jack, audio out, HDMI, DisplayPort, SD card reader, and a Gigabit LAN.

HP august 2016-14On the other side of things, we have the Elite Slice which is reminiscent of the Mac Mini but w/ its own unique spin on things.  The Slice is a modular system that can be stacked to add more features and capabilities to the rig.  It is also the 1st desktop to be completely powered via USB-C as well.

The Slice is their new vision for a super small + powerful desktop for commercial use.   Inside you can go up to a Core i7 CPU, up to 16GB of RAM, up to  2TB of storage + option for a dual drive w/ 128GB SSD, 1-Ethernet port, 1 HDMI port, 1 DisplayPort, and a 360-degree dual fan pipe for cooling.  As far as how it expands, it utilizes stackable modules to add more abilities to the system.

It adds Collaboration Cover that allows you to manage Skype calls w/ capacitive touch keys.  You got an Audio Module that adds a dual-mic setup to take virtual/group calls up to 5 meters away utilizing HP Noise Cancelling software + Bang & Olufsen tuned-audio.  Then we have a module for an optical disk drive in case you need a CD /DVD.  And lastly, we have a wireless charging cover that adds the ability of Qi charging for smartphones.

HP august 2016-13 HP august 2016-12The Pavilion Wave will start out at $530 and due out on September 16th.  While the Elite Slice starts at $699 and coming sometime in September.  Not sure if yall believed me when I told yall that HP is doing some innovating things.
