This bit of news came out of nowhere yesterday as Logitech just acquired Astro Gaming for $85 million in cash. Astro will now be a part of Logitech’s G division. Don’t worry Astro loyalists, the brand isn’t going anywhere.
Now you might wonder if Logitech has the G brand for gaming, why buy Astro? Its simple, they want some of that console action as their G brand is only for PC gaming. This would help them cover both sides of the gaming accessories market.
The deal is expected to be completed by the end of next month. Hopefully, plans for the Astro brand to remain outside of Logitech G will last long after the deal is done. Are you excited, pissed, or don’t care about this happening?
