Now that Amazon has taken a step back from its acquiring spree, they’re looking to expand their products & services.  Based on a recent report, the company is looking to offer a new device that would act as a Tivo for your TV.

According to the folks over at Bloomberg, the upcoming Amazon device would record live TV to watch later on their TVs or their smartphones.  It would offer physical storage (maybe an option for cloud storage as well), would connect to Fire TV boxes, and utilize the same wireless technology that pairs Echo speakers to Fire products.  The current codename for it ‘Frank’.

Also, along w/ that would be an updated Fire Stick that would offer new software and would expand content outside of who they currently use.  This would be Amazon doing their best Roku impression as well w/ its own interface across multiple devices.

We’ll probably see the new Fire  TV Stick as the DVR device still may or may not happen.  Does either of these new devices sound interesting enough for you to buy?
