With Sony putting a hurting on the OGs in the camera market w/ their smaller full-frame mirrorless cameras, now its the OGs turn to show & prove.  Nikon announced theirs last week and now we have Canon’s full-frame mirrorless camera.  Meet the EOS R camera system & new RF lenses.

The new RF lenses that work w/ the R-line are an f/4. 24-105mm L, f/1.2 50mm L, f/2 28-70mm L, and a f/1.8 35mm macro.  All lenses offer a dedicated control ring, dials for zooming, manual focus, aperture, etc all from the lens itself.  The adapters for the R-line will be available at launch as well.

The EOS R camera is due out sometime in late October as pre-orders kick off next week on September 12th.  The camera body alone will cost you $2,300 or you can grab it w/ the 24-105mm lens for $3,400.

Is this the newer Canon camera you’ve been waiting for?  And who’s gonna reserve one?
