Jony Ive Is Leaving Apple After 30 Years & Here Some Of What He Helped Design

Yesterday afternoon, Apple’s Chief Design Officer announced his departure from the company later this year.  So that means Sir Jony Ive will no longer be heading the design aspect over at Apple.

Ive will be leaving to get back to consulting by forming his own independent design firm.  However, he won’t be completely out of the loop as Apple will be one of his clients for multiple projects.  Since we won’t exit until later, expect his influence in the new iPhones and whatever else drops before the end of 2019.

Ive’s designs have been from just about every notable product from Apple going back to the 2nd-gen Newton to the new Mac Pro (aka the cheese grater) and everything else in-between.  Whether you think he’s great at designing or has been remixing older designs for years or lie somewhere in-between; this is the end of an era over at Apple.

You can check out all of the noteworthy products below.

iMac

Power Mac G4 Cube
