With 2020 being tough on the many financially, many people need a break or ways to spend less on their monthly necessities. So much to the point that you might have to where you may have to make some changes to make things work for you & your loved ones. Especially when it comes to your smartphone bill.
Enter Visible prepaid service: a $40 per month MVNO that utilizes Verizon’s network and offers tons of features to go along w/ it. We spent a few months w/ it on my main phone and we’re ready to tell you all about it as well as what $40 monthly gets you.
Their family plan called the Party Plan charges a little as $25 per month. You get all of the great features from a single plan w/ unlimited everything. You can get a party line of 2 for $35 per line, a party line of 3 for $30 per line, & party line of 4 for $25 per line. So if you in need of an affordable family plan, they got you as well.
You have the latest high-end smartphones to choose from like the entire iPhone 12 line, the Samsung Galaxy S20 line, Galaxy A line, the Pixel 4a/4a 5G/5, OnePlus 8, Motorola Edge, and more. If you want to keep your current phone, you can bring it over as well. However, some models of the aforementioned devices may not be compatible. You can check the compatibility of your device online before pulling the trigger.
To get started w/ Visible, you just go download the app or hit their site to order a SIM or a phone and they’ll overnight it to you to get started. Setup your account, choose a number, and then you’re done. I was able to get some great speeds as well. Ranging from 55Mbps to 179Mbps via download speeds and 9Mbps to 21Mbps via upload speeds on average. This is over the course of 3 months and in several locations within a 40-mile range including home, work, food shopping, etc.
Now there are some asterisks involved w/ this that you need to know about. Being an MVNO that utilizes another carrier for service specifically Verizon, there are some data caps. The mobile hotspot feature caps out at 5Mbps & 5G speeds caps out at 200Mbps. You may come across slower speeds in peak times due to deprioritization where they would VZW customers the best speeds over Visible customers. Now I wouldn’t consider them dealbreakers as you can still have a good experience.
So does Visible live up to the hype it’s selling? Most definitely. While I have yet to test a device on their 5G network, you do get a reliable service w/ great coverage & no call drops for the $40 plus tax a month. Especially when other popular MNVOs charge either more for unlimited everything you or giving what you paid for w/ much less. So if you need to reassess your finances while retaining a reliable smartphone service that’s affordable, Visible is the way to go.
