FINN: A New Way To Lease Your New Vehicle

While many of you have heard of Carvana at this point, there are now other ways to getting a vehicle online. But instead of financing or buying one out right, we’re talking a more lease-like, subscription setup. Meet FINN: a new online-based vehicle subscription service that offers 6 & 12-month terms w/ free delivery. We had a media code to access the service which included 3 weeks w/ the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. They’re aiming to be one of the alternative ways to acquire a new vehicle and we’ll let you know about our experience as well as see if this is a viable option for you. Let’s dive into it.

What To Know About Finn

So FINN works like an all-in-one lease subscription that also handles everything from insurance, vehicle tax, inspection, 24/7 roadside assistance and maintenance/wear-&-tear in one monthly price. Now they’re now available in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, and more cities coming soon. And yes, there are EV options for the Tesla Model 3 & the Model Y depending on your location and availability.

FINN’s pricing subscription starts as low as $499 and goes up to $1,579 monthly. You get to choose the color of your vehicle, choice of 6 or 12 months, monthly miles of 850, 1,000 ($49), 1,250 ($129), or 1,500 ($229). The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series II 4 x 4 we tested had a MSRP of $78,135 and a monthly subscription of $1,199 for 12 months w/ 850 miles per month included at no additional cost. The 6 month option for the Wagoneer would cost you $1,249 w/ 850 miles.

Now at 1st glance, the pricing might seem a bit on the higher side. Especially when leasing a vehicle is normally have lower payments than the financing route. The monthly subscription pricing also includes insurance, 24/7 roadside assistance, and maintenance in one fee. So if you have any issues with your vehicle, you can get it taken care of w/o shelling out more money for it.

Now you do need a minimum of a 625 credit score, a valid driver’s license thats at least 2 years old, and be at least 25 years of age. The whole process to order takes less than 5 minutes. You just sign up via a desktop or via mobile, fill out the required info like choose your vehicle along w/ date for drop off, take a pic + upload your driver’s license for verification, and you’re good to go.

The Vehicle We Tested 2022 Jeep Wagoneer

Moving onto the vehicle available to me: the new 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. This model offers a 5.7L V8 engine, 392hp, and 4×4 capabilities. Jeep made sure this thing could move but so much to the point where you gotta worry about flipping over on sharp turns. Good handling over rocky/uneven pavement, accelerating fast on curves while still hugging the road, and can handle quick accelerating onto an on a highway ramp w/ ease.

Now you might think this thing is a gas guzzler, it not too bad. But driving an hour and 40 mins road trip to PA and back home to NJ only used around a quarter of a tank. With something this size, that can put your mind at ease a bit for road trips. Although it can be a heavy gas-sipper for a lot of short stop & go trips.

You got a 3-row SUV that seats up to 8 passengers, remote start, heated steering wheel, heated & cooled front seats, tri-zone climate control, 8 Nappa leather trimmed seats, a 10.1inch touchscreen display, a tri-pane panoramic roof, back up camera, front + rear blindspot sensors, and a 9-speaker Alpine system w/ subwoofer. The interior is as roomy as it looks. Good headroom and amazing legroom in the 2nd and 3rd rows. And a total of 116 cubic feet of total cargo space. I just wish that this trim of the Wagoneer offered 360-degree cameras included as well. So when it comes to parking, you’re left to rely on the front/rear sensors and the backup camera.

Although this isn’t an EV, there are many ways to charge your devices inside. You have a wireless charging pad, a set of USB-C + USB-A ports, and 12V port in the front, a single set of USB-C + USB-A in the smaller front compartment, a 150W AC port + 12V port on the 2nd row, and a set of USB-C + USB-A on each side of the 3rd-row along w/ a & 12V port. All of this makes for a large & luxurious experience. The Wagoneer as a whole, is an ideal vehicle for large families, those who carpool, or someone who desires a lot of trunk space when the 3rd row is folded down. It is armed w/ many amenities, features, and of course, the space that one would want.

The return process for the Wagoneer was a simple process. You’ll coordinate with FINN to lock in the desired pickup time via phone call/text. When they arrive, they gotta check out the vehicle. And by checking out, I mean to note any dents & dings you may have acquired throughout your time with it and make sure it is clean. They towed it away and you’re good to go.

Despite being on the pricier side of things, FINN is a welcome alternative to leasing a vehicle. The car subscription service is similar to a lease as FINN offers more like insurance, vehicle tax, inspection, 24/7 roadside assistance and maintenance/wear-&-tear. We didn’t come across any accidents or fender-benders where I would need to go through their insurance and repair process as the communication between pick-up/drop and one-week extension went seamless. So if you’re in the market to do a car subscription plan for a new car or truck, definitely go to Finn.auto to check out their inventory and see if they’re available in your area. You can save $200 off of your FINN subscription when you use the code: $200fromRoderickaab at checkout.
