Today belongs to Apple as their 2019 iPhone announcement kicked off an hour ago. So Apple’s 1st hardware announcement killed off their entry-level 9.7inch iPad. So say hello to the new larger entry-level iPad w/ the 10.2inch model.
So did Apple do anything other than beef up the screen size? Not really. It is more or less the same 9.7inch iPad – but bigger. You got Apple’s A10 Fusion CPU instead of the faster A10X Fusion on the iPad Pros. It runs the new iPad OS software. You still got a 10-hour battery life, Touch ID and support for the 1st-gen Apple Pencil + Smart Keyboard as well.
The pricing remains the same at $329 for the Wi-Fi model and $459 for the LTE model. Pre-orders kick off now and will be hitting stores in a few weeks on September 30th.
Are you upgrading your older iPad for this one?
