Apple still only makes the only tablet that matters but you no longer need to go Pro to get the best one. They introduced the new-and-improved iPad Air gives you a large 10.9inch display, fast + powerful A14 Bionic CPU, Touch ID built-into the Power button, & great dual speakers. All w/o paying over $1,000 for it.
For 2020, Google went for a different approach for the Pixel 5. You got no larger XL model, no Face Unlock, & no more dedicated image processor. You do have pure Android, more RAM, 90Hz display, & still on one of the best cameras on a smartphone.
Samsung dropped hella phones this year. Some might say too many. One of them is a great middle ground for all and that is the Galaxy S20 FE (or Fan Edition). You get a 6.5inch 120Hz display, triple rear cameras, 5G, and an all-day battery life for less than $800.
The past 2 years, Apple has been doing things a little bit different w/ their phones. The iPhone 12 lineup was no different. You got 5G support, OLED display, 4K Dolby Vision, & better Night Mode for photos/videos for starting price under $800.
Another year, another installment of Call Of Duty. This year takes to their game’s version of the Cold War in this Black Ops experience. You still got the usual suspects of Frnak Woods & Alex Mason but adds new characters into the mix along w/ President Reagan, CIA, Russian spies, mind control, and more. You still got the campaign, multiplayer & Zombies at your disposal as well to keep you busy on your current or next-gen console.
We can’t have a gift guide w/o the top-selling console for the past years: the Nintendo Switch. Still the only portable & at home gaming console is unmatched in versatility. Same can be said for Nintendo’s game library + IP as well. They’re currently celebrating Mario’s 35th anniversary w/ some great Mario bundles + titles as well as their online service to access their past library of games from N64, SNES, & NES.
The next-gen console from Sony arrives w/ or w/o the 4K Blu-Ray disc drive. There are a few titles out that really showcase 4K gaming on the PS5 like Miles Morales: Spider-Man, NBA 2K21, & Call Of Duty Black Ops: Cold War. The DualSense controller is amazing too w/ enhanced haptics + improved triggers. Good luck finding one though.
Microsoft’s next-gen console arrives in 2 verisons: the Series S & the Series X. We’d opt for the Series X due to what you will wind up paying in storage expansion. The Series X gives you 4K gaming, ray-tracing graphics, & a new Share button on the new controllers. Like the PS5, you will have to fight off the bots to get one.
Looking to dive into content creation like Twitch or YouTube but don’t want to spend a whole lot to get started? Sony’ a6100 is a great place to start. This gives you a 24.2MP sensor, 4K @30fps + slow-motion 1080p @120fps, eye-tracking auto-focus, a 3inch flipout LCD touchscreen display, mic input, and Sony’s larger Z battery to shoot longer.
The A7S III is Sony’s latest full-frame mirrorless shooter. It is a filmmakers dream as well as content creators who want to take their video quality to the next level.
