Those of you who desire more from Siri will soon get help. During an interview with CNBC, Apple CEO Tim Cook teased the company’s plans to include additional AI tools in its various operating systems. Cook also said that Apple is looking to release an AI-upgraded form of Siri sometime next year, as the company is making progress on it, to add more over time.

Apple already utilizes ChatGPT in Siri, with the addition of Google Gemini in the works, according to Apple SVP Craig Federighi last year. Apple plans to integrate more people over time, which aligns with the rumors of Anthropic and Perplexity potentially joining the list in the near future.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of Apple Intelligence, with Siri not being effective enough to use alone, and Apple’s poor execution in handling notifications.  However, it does offer useful features like writing tools, live translation, and call screening and recording, to name a few. I hope this is the beginning of getting Apple Intelligence back on track to where it needs to be.
