Say hello to next year’s Motorola phones today. Meet the newest Moto G and Moto G Play for 2026, which are essentially the same mid-range phone with a few minor differences to justify the slight price difference.
Both Moto phones offer 6.7-inch 120Hz LCDs with up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness, powered by MediaTek 6300 processors, 4GB of RAM, expandable up to 12GB with virtual RAM, 3.5mm headphone jacks, and run on Android 16. They feature vegan leather and IP52-rated water-repellent designs, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and 5,200 mAh batteries.
Separately, the Moto G offers a 50MP main camera with a 32MP selfie cam, 128GB of storage expandable up to 1TB via microSD card, and 30W fast-charging. This arrives in a grey or purple option, which Motorola called Pantone Slipstream and Pantone Cattleya Orchid. As the Moto G Play touts a 32MP main camera, an 8MP selfie shooter, 256GB of storage expandable up to 1TB via microSD card, and 18W fast-charging. This model only arrives in a blue option, which Motorola calls Pantone Tapestry.
The Moto G Play will be available online only on November 13 for $170 at Amazon, Best Buy, and Motorola, with in-store availability to follow in the coming months. The Moto G starts at $200 and will be available on Motorola’s site starting on December 11, and then at Amazon and Best Buy on January 15.
