As the smart ring competition has grown, Oura remains the go-to pick for overall performance, subscription, and battery life. Yesterday, Oura unveiled its 5th-generation smart ring, which is $50 more than its predecessor and brings the starting price to $400 with pre-orders available now at Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and Oura’s site

So what’s new with the Oura Ring 5? It offers a smaller, thinner, and lighter titanium design, resulting in a 40% smaller footprint at 2.28mm thick and 6.09mm wide. The company also uses improved LEDs, 12 optimized signal pathways, and adjusted sensor positioning that deliver more accurate readings. There’s also a slightly longer battery life, increasing from up to 8 days in the previous model to up to 9 days on a single charge.

Oura is also bringing new software features, such as real-time workout and heart-rate tracking; third-party support for heart-rate monitors and GLP-1 tracking; monitoring nighttime breathing and blood pressure; and a way to track your missing ring or charging case via the app. Of course, you’ll need an Oura subscription to access everything, priced at $6 monthly or $70 yearly.

Pre-orders for the Oura Ring 5 are live and go on sale on June 4. As we mentioned earlier, $400 is the starting price for the silver model, and costs $500 for the other color options: black, stealth, brushed silver, gold, and deep rose. The new ring is also shipping with the $100 Oura Ring 5 Charging case, which offers wireless charging and up to a month of battery life.
